STUDNITZKY
Recognized as one of Germany’s most versatile musicians, he is the only artist in the country to have received both an ECHO Jazz and an OPUS Klassik award, highlighting his exceptional artistry and multi-instrumental mastery across genres.Studnitzky bridges genres and cultures as the founder of the XJAZZ! Festival and XJAZZ! Music, key platforms for innovative musical collaborations. This project represents the culmination of STUDNITZKY’s years of innovation as a composer and performer, merging neoclassical, jazz, and cinematic elements into a singular artistic vision. It captures not only the music but the essence of a collaborative process that brings together exceptional talent and shared humanity.

KY! – More Than an Album
KY! is more than an album – it is vision and risk in sound. Monumental landscapes meet fragile, human moments, all captured live at Berlin’s legendary Meistersaal: one room, one take, no overdubs. This bold approach, with audience, orchestra and band together, created a recording of raw energy and authenticity.
THE ORCHESTRA
With the Chamber Orchestra of the Philharmonic Odesa (Ukraine), conducted by maestro Volodymyr Dykyi, Studnitzky continues a deep collaboration within his MEMENTO ODESA project.
In 2023 they recorded together in Odesa, and in 2024/2025 they performed 30 concerts in Germany and Ukraine – raising more than €60,000 for support projects.

THE MUSIC
The album merges jazz, classical music and electronic textures into epic soundscapes. Monumental sonic landscapes meet fragile, human moments, all captured live. It is both a celebration of beauty and a reminder of vulnerability. At the same time, it remains intimate and personal, reflecting the spontaneity of the live recording process.
THE BAND
For this album, Studnitzky brought together his dream band. Tim Sarhan lays down a dark, minimalist groove, while Bodek Jahnke weaves intricate rhythms on top. With bassist Paul Kleber, Studnitzky shares 25 years of near-telepathic interplay. Claudio Puntin bends the clarinet into futuristic soundscapes, and Finnish guitarist Arto Mäkelä adds a sharp, unmistakable edge to the mix.

RECORDING
Thirty musicians, more than a hundred microphones, and a hall full of history: the Meistersaal itself became an instrument. Every note, every resonance, every silence was shaped by its unique acoustics, adding depth and warmth to the music.A project of this scale could only work with absolute trust in the team. Head technician Arne Schumann and engineer Lukas Kowalski created an atmosphere so natural and effortless that the musicians never felt like they were in a recording session. Instead, it felt like a live performance unfolding in real time.
