BACKGROUND
It was created in 2023 in collaboration with the Odesa Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Volodymy Dykiy, as a musical tribute to the resilience of Ukraine amidst the ongoing war. The music blends classical elements, contemporary jazz, classical elements, and deep emotional expression, creating a unique soundscape with a fusion of
improvisation and orchestral depth.

STUDNITZKY
Recognized as one of Germany’s most versatile musicians, he is the only artist in the country to have received both an ECHO Jazz and an OPUS Klassik award, highlighting his exceptional artistry and multi-instrumental mastery across genres.Studnitzky bridges genres and cultures as the founder of the XJAZZ! Festival and XJAZZ! Music, key platforms for innovative musical collaborations. This project represents the culmination of STUDNITZKY’s years of innovation as a composer and performer, merging neoclassical, jazz, and cinematic elements into a singular artistic vision. It captures not only the music but the essence of a collaborative process that brings together exceptional talent and shared humanity.
ANASTASIIA POKAZ
Anastasiia Pokaz is a cultural manager and singer from Odesa. Since the beginning of the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine, she has been based in Berlin, where she works as a Creative Producer for the XJAZZ! Festival and combines her artistic practice with cultural engagement.

THE ORCHESTRA
The recording session in Odesa was performed with a full symphonic orchestra of 45 musicians conducted by Volodymyr Dykyi. For the German tour, the chamber orchestra of Odesa Philharmonic, 22 musicians, predominantly female due to restrictions on men leaving Ukraine, brought the project on stage. These performances forged a deep emotional bond and an unparalleled emotional resonance.
THE ALBUM
released in autumn 2024, is a powerful musical testament to resilience and unity, featuring recordings from Odesa and a live performance at Berlin’s Gedächtniskirche. The album seamlessly blends the improvised session from Odesa, where the project began, with the emotive energy of the live concert, creating a unique fusion of jazz and classical influences. With its evocative compositions and cinematic quality, the album invites listeners to experience the emotional depth of the project’s journey through sound.

NUMBERS
The subsequent tours since 2024 brought the music to 23 cities in Germany and 6 concerts in Odesa, Kyiv & Lviv at prestigious venues such as Philhamonic Hall Odesa, Gedächtniskirche Berlin, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Philharmonic Hall Berlin and Laeiszhalle Hamburg. The performances were met with profound resonance in Ukraine and Germany, resulting in donations exceeding €60,000, allocated to childrenofheroes.org and a project delivering first aid kits to frontline fighters.
FUTURE
